Seven Michigan prosecutors, all Democrats, have reaffirmed their intention not to enforce Michigan’s 1931 abortion ban.

The announcement comes after the Michigan Court of Appeals ruled local prosecutors are not subject to an injunction prohibiting the enforcement of the ban. The ban allows those performing abortions to be criminally prosecuted except in cases where the mother’s life is at risk.
